As part of a new BBVFD member health and wellness initiative, we are hosting a 90-minute Foundation Training workshop where members will learn core-strengthening exercises and exercises to use in daily life to improve posture, body mechanics, balance and strength.

Foundation training is a strength-based program, rather than a general fitness/cardio class. It is used by fire departments and organizations around the world to improve long-term health, core conditioning and injury prevention for their members.

This workshop will be then followed up with four 45-minute classes where members will receive “fine-tuning” instruction on technique and receive personal assessment and feedback on those foundations.

It is HIGHLY recommended that members try to attend the initial workshop (or as much of it as you can) as the over-arching principles will be covered, which will expedite the benefits.

This will be FREE for members, and we are pleased to announce that we have room for partners and spouses to joins us. The program is not appropriate for small children.

Location will be at the Britannia Beach Community hall- special thanks to Ian for making this happen!

Members are requested to wear comfortable, flexible clothing- leggings or shorts so that the facilitator can see knee positioning.

Please bring a yoga mat if you have one. The instructor can provide mats and blocks if you don’t have one.

If you happen to have access to a printer, please consider completing the waiver in advance. FT with LG Waiver vs2024
